Frequently Asked Licensing Questions

Answers to the most common questions about software keys, renewals, client handovers, and domain changes.

Can I use this code for a paying client's website? +

Yes, absolutely! All commercial license tiers explicitly permit building paying client projects. 1 production domain is consumed per client deployment unless you hold an Agency (25 sites) or Enterprise (unlimited) license.

What happens if I change my domain name in the future? +

You can deactivate any old domain at any time directly inside your Customer Portal (My Account → Licenses). Once deactivated, the seat is immediately returned to your available quota pool and can be activated on your new domain instantly.

Will my website stop working if my license expires after 1 year? +

No. All UniteElements products feature perpetual use rights. Your live website will continue running normally. License expiration only pauses access to new feature releases, future WordPress compatibility updates, and priority ticket support.

How do staging and localhost environments work? +

Our licensing engine automatically identifies development patterns (localhost, *.local, *.test, staging.*, dev.*). These environments receive automatic activation passes and will never reduce your production site quota count.

Can I transfer a license to my client after completing a project? +

Yes. In your Customer Portal (Licenses → Initiate Ownership Transfer), you can generate a secure 32-character transfer token to cleanly hand off billing, updates, and key administration to your client's UniteElements account.
